MTM On The Road: Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan in Traverse City

is making sure everyone is well fed with healthy and nutritious foods with their Food Rescue program.

Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan covers these five counties: Kalkaska, Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, and Leelanau County.

Food Rescue has rescued over 9 million pounds of food in the past 10 years. Every day drivers collect soon-to-expire, fresh, healthy food from grocers, bakers, and farmers, and delivers it to 48 pantries, shelters, and community meal sites.

The program helps people who are hungry have access to healthy food while reducing food waste in the community.

Start off your Thursday with Regan Blissett and Stephanie Adkins as they follow along Food Rescue to see firsthand at how they are helping people in need.
