Public Forum Being Held In Oscoda Discussing PFAS Cleanup Efforts

A Pentagon official is holding a public forum in Northern Michigan Wednesday to discuss the community’s water pollution issues.

Air Force assistant secretary John Henderson will hold the forum in Oscoda to update the community on efforts to clean up toxic PFAS chemicals in the drinking water.

PFAS are used in a wide variety of household products.

The chemicals are also found in firefighting foam, which was used at the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda.

The forum will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
