Wellness for the Family: Trying Some Easter Egg-cercises
Jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, peeps. Easter morning can often bring a sugar rush with it.
Registered Dietitian Grace Derocha, with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, is back in the Heritage House today to talk about some egg-xercises to help keep kids active and have fun.
“There is more money spent during Easter than on Halloween,” Derocha says. “$2.4 billion in candy during Easter time.”
That is a lot of candy. But Derocha has a healthier alternative.
There are other things that you can include in your Easter basket to keep the kids active and having fun.
- Bubbles
- Chalk
- Sporting goods
- Jump ropes
And Derocha says even the tried and true egg hunt can get a healthier spin.
“In your eggs, you can put some egg-xercises,” she says.
