What’s in Your Dirt? Rent-A-Gardener Does a Soil Test

We are getting closer and closer to the growing season, and a good way to prepare is by getting a soil test.

Emily Jackson, with Rent-A-Gardener, says for $20 Michigan State University can tell you what kinds of nutrients your soil has.

And it can even tell you what your soil might be missing. But the key is doing this test before you fertilize your lawn or garden.

“They’ll send you back readings of what your lawn needs or doesn’t need,” Jackson says. “If you have fertilized already, you’ll want to note that so they can take that into account.”
