United Airlines Extends Grounding of Boeing 737 Max Jets

United Airlines is extending its cancellation of all Boeing 737 Max flights through early July.

It follows similar moves by American and Southwest airlines.

The federal aviation administration ordered all 737 Max planes grounded last month, after two deadly crashes overseas killed nearly 350 people.

Since then United says it has used spare aircraft and other creative solutions to help minimize the impact on customers.

Boeing’s CEO said last week that it’s closing in on a fix for the software issue believed to have caused the crashes.

He did not say when the planes could start flying again.
