Mason County Central Schools Placed on Soft Lockdown
After Mason County Deputies determined there was an active shooter Tuesday morning, surrounding schools took some precautions.
Mason County Central Schools were advised by police to go on a soft lockdown.
They say this is simply a precaution.
The district’s superintendent says their day is still run as normal however students are not allowed outside
“Our doors are always locked, on secure mode anyway but once they’re inside we keep them inside. We’re vigilant on who’s coming into our buildings at that time and there’s just an extra level of awareness,” said Jeff Mount, Mason County Central Schools Superintendent.
The school was on a soft lockdown for 45 minutes of their day.
It was lifted once police arrested the shooter.
