Future of Elk Rapids Teacher to Be Discussed at Board Meeting
The future of an Elk Rapids teacher could be decided Monday night.
That teacher is currently under investigation, accused of inappropriate conduct with a former student.
Monday night the school board is expected to discuss the teacher’s future with the district.
Last month the superintendent sent a letter home to parents saying the unnamed teacher was being put on paid leave.
As of now, no charges have been filed in the case.
The superintendent says the district has been speaking with the teacher about his possible resignation, but he hasn’t actually resigned.
The superintendent expects the issue to be addressed at Monday night’s board meeting.
It begins at 6 p.m. at Elk Rapids High School and is open to the public.
9&10 News will have a crew at that meeting and will have a full report on it 9&10 News at 10 and 11.
