Northern Michigan Veterans Receive Free Dental Care in Traverse City

Some veterans in northern Michigan got some much-needed dental care today, all for free.

Aspen Dental brought their MouthMobile to Traverse City Friday.

It started in 2014 and this is its fifth stop in Michigan.

They expected to see about 35 veterans, but also accepted walk-ins.

Aspen says it gives veterans essential health care they normally may not have.

“A lot of our veterans here, it’s been the first time they’ve seen a dentist in 10, 15, 20 years. They just don’t get the benefits from the VA unless they’re a prisoner of war or have some sort of disability, so we’re very thankful to be able to help them,” said Aspen Southwest Michigan Regional Manager Jennifer Troxell.

Aspen Dental’s MouthMobile has helped 21,000 veterans and provided $13 million in free dental care.
