Registered Dietitian Grace Derocha, with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, is helping us translate the health labels on processed food.
Derocha says the first thing you need to know is serving size.
“I would recommend to try to look at the portions so that you can see how much you are consuming and what is in it so you know what kind of nutrition you’re getting into your diet,” she says.
But the second is how to read the percentages, because they mean different things depending on if you are a man or a woman.
She also shows us how to read the ingredients list.
