Man Arrested in Connection to Louisiana Church Burnings

Police in Louisiana have arrested a man in connection with three fires at historically black churches.

Police say 21-year-old Holden Matthews of St. Landry Parish was turned in by his father, who is the Parish’s deputy sheriff.

It comes after three churches were burned down in St. Landry in just the past two weeks.

Investigators believe the fires are connected.

The NAACP is calling the fires “domestic terrorism”.

The parish sheriff’s office is holding a press conference at 10 a.m. Thursday morning, where they’re expected to share more information.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives along with Louisiana’s governor are expected to be there.
