Hook & Hunting: Turkey Hunting Clinic in Cadillac

Spring turkey hunting begins this month.

If you’re interested in learning how to turkey hunt, this weekend is your chance.

The DNR Outdoor Skills Academy is putting on a turkey hunting clinic this Saturday at the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center in Cadillac.

It will teach you everything from what gear to use, how to call a turkey and what regulations you need to keep in mind before heading out.

It is a family friendly event for hunters of all ages.

“I really target families of all ages, we get a lot of older folks all the way to younger folks. Maybe you’re a deer hunter and you’re interested in turkey hunting is a good example, but who have never been turkey hunting. Well, where do you start? Well, we are that starting point,” explained Edward Shaw with the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center

They will also be hosting a walleye fishing clinic on Sunday.

If you’re interested in attending, contact Ed Shaw at shawe@michigan.gov or call (231)-779-1321.
