Head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement to Step Down

The head of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement will be stepping down by the end of the week.

According to a letter sent to ICE employees, acting director Ron Vitiello will leave the department.

He was nominated to become the permanent director but that was pulled by the White House last Thursday.

Last Friday President Trump said he wanted to go in a “tougher direction.”

This is the latest in a number of departures of high ranking border officials including Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
