As part of Senior Service Day some Northern Michigan high school students are lending a helping hand, and a hammer to the environment.

Cadillac High School students built nearly 150 of these bluebird boxes on Wednesday.

With help from Consumers Energy, Home Depot, the US Forest Service, the Huron Pines Chapter of Americorp, and Biggby Coffee.

The boxes are meant to attract wildlife to the area.

70 more boxes will be provided to the public to build on April 28.

And students will help install them around Cadillac on May 3.
