Wellness for the Family: Early Signs, Treatments of Parkinson’s Disease

Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative, progressive disorder that affects movement. Often with stiffness and tremors.

And it affects an estimated seven to 10 million people worldwide.

Registered Dietitian Grace Derocha, with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, explains how early signs and symptoms can be different, along with effective treatments that include changes to your diet.

“I want to remind people that here at Blue Cross, we are very passionate about this,” she says. “We want to help fight it, we want to help bring awareness to it so that we can help people who do have Parkinson’s disease.”

Watch the video above for more information on early warning signs, treatments, and Derocha’s recommended diet changes.
