Troopers Use Force to Arrest Man Accused of Choking Woman

State police say troopers had to use force to arrest a man who attacked a woman and made threatening comments about officers.

Police say it started Tuesday evening when they were called to a home in Interlochen.

They say John Halloway attacked and choked a woman, then made threats that he would kill police before running away.

Later that night troopers found him back at the house.

They say he refused to listen to their commands, took an aggressive posture and began yelling.

Troopers subdued Halloway and arrested him.

He is charged with resisting police and domestic violence.
