Work Resumes on Cut River Bridge in Mackinac County

Now that the weather’s warming up, road repairs are starting.

One project in the Upper Peninsula is picking back up Wednesday.

MDOT crews spent several weeks last year repairing the Cut River Bridge on U.S. 2 in Mackinac County.

Wednesday, they will restart their cleaning and repainting on the bridge.

That means U.S. 2 is down to one lane of alternating traffic.

The roadside park at the bridge will also be closed during the painting project.

It’s all part of MDOT’s $4.8 million project to improve the bridge.

Crews have already repaired steel and expansion joints.
