A generous $250,000 gift is paving the way for a new assisted living home in the eastern Upper Peninsula.
Hospice of the EUP announced the gift from the Wiles family, which will go towards building a six room home and hospice room in Rudyard.
The Wiles are former educators who together have called Rudyard home for the last half-century
They say they saved up their money and recently sold their farm, making the donation to give back to a community they love.
They hope the newly-planned “White-Wiles Assisted Living Home” will enrich the area for years to come.
“We do so feeling very heart warmed by it because we foresee the possibility that we may need to use the facility ourselves at some point in the future,” Sally Wiles, said.
“We love this place as we both have lived here for all of our working life,” Bob Wiles, said.
Hospice of the EUP is more than halfway to the $600,000 goal for the project
