Monday, Apple unveiled a handful of new and buzz-worthy services at the ‘It’s Showtime’ event in California.

From a new streaming service full of original content to a laser-etched titanium credit card, there’s plenty to unpack from Monday’s event.

In this week’s Tech on Tuesday, we take a look at Apple’s much anticipated services.

Apple TV Plus

One of the biggest announcements to come from Monday’s Apple event was the unveiling of Apple TV Plus, a place for its new slate of original shows. The new streaming service will be ad-free, on demand and available both streaming online and downloadable.

Apple revealed some of the original TV shows and movies we can expect to see when Apple TV Plus launches, including a series called Amazing Stories produced by Steven Spielberg, two documentaries from Oprah Winfrey, and a kid-friendly series featuring Sesame Street characters that uses principles of coding to solve problems.

The new subscription service is set to launch this fall.

Apple News Plus

Another new service announced Monday is Apple News Plus, a subscription service for newspapers and magazines designed to give subscribers access to a massive range of publications at a relatively affordable price.

Apple says more than 300 magazines will be included in Apple News Plus, with that number expected to grow over time.

The new service costs $10 per month and will be available from the Apple News app, making it easy to check out your favorite magazines without having to download another app.

Apple Card

Apple is getting into the credit card business with its announcement of Apple Card. It’s a new credit card that will live both virtually in Apple’s Wallet app and in the physical world as a minimalist-designed, laser-etched titanium card.

The tech giant said it sought to toss out many of the things people don’t like about credit cards by doing away with late fees, annual fees, and international fees, as well as penalty interest rates.

Apple will also offer cash-back rewards daily to Apple Card customers.

Apple teamed up with Goldman Sachs and MasterCard to release the new card, which will be accepted worldwide.

Apple Arcade

Apple also revealed its own game-subscription service at Monday’s event called Apple Arcade. Apple Arcade will offer a wide selection of games that can be downloaded and played on iOS, Mac and Apple TV.

The game-subscription service will launch in the fall and use the App Store as its hub.

Apple Arcade will boast more than 100 new games at launch, and family sharing will allow you to use the subscription across multiple connected devices.
