Artist in Focus: Sculptures Step Out of Storybooks

Otherworldly, majestic and magical.

Leeann Schnepp is a sculptor who spent a lifetime growing her skills to make the women we’ve heard about in books come to life.

“I’m inspired by mythology and story telling and fairy tales, I think when my children were growing up a lot of the stories I was telling them sparked interest, so I go into the studio and make those things,” she says. “Most are female figure sculptures. Women throughout history, women in mythology, women in various stories (and) fairy tales.”
