Leelanau Curling Club Builds New Facility

An increasingly popular winter sport will soon be sliding into Leelanau County.

The Leelanau Curling Club will start meeting as soon as its new facility in Maple City is completed.

David Gersenson started curling back in 2016 in Traverse City, and decided to build the facility.

You can find it next to the Broomstack Kitchen and Taphouse, which he runs with his partners.

Once it’s finished, this building will be home to two dedicated sheets of ice, and will be open to the community.

The Leelanau Curling Club already has fourteen people interested.

They hope to be in the building and curling by the end of April.
