St. Ignace Fans Cheer On Saints In Girls H.S. Basketball Championship Game

There was a big basketball game Saturday for Northern Michigan but this one did not involve the NCAA.

The St. Ignace girls battled the Adrian Lenawee Christian Cougars Saturday morning for the Division Four state title.

If Saints fans were not at the game in Grand Rapids, they were glued to the TV.

Either at home or at local restaurants around town.

This is the first time since 2015 the Saints made it this far.

Fans like Rene Halberg say the community appreciates the players, the coaches and their accomplishments.

“Their coaching style is great and I think it shows because we have been in this position before over the years. Dorene and Doug have great energy. All the Ingall’s have great energy and support for the girls.
