Traverse City Officers, Firefighter Honored With Lifesaving Awards

Two Traverse City police officers and a firefighter were honored for their lifesaving actions during a fire late last year.

Wednesday, Lt. Eric Jackson from Traverse City Fire Department and Officer Reed Shea and Officer Taylor Comiskey from Traverse City Police Department received Lifesaving Award from the National Police Hall of Fame.

According to the Traverse City Police Department, the three responded to a house fire on Cochlin Street back on Nov. 5.

When they arrived on scene, they learned a family may still be in the home.

The three searched the home and found the family sleeping and completely unaware their home was on fire.

They were able to escort the three children and their parents safely out of the home.
