Spaceflight Program Sends Traverse City Students Projects to Space

Traverse City West High School students are getting ready to send a science experiment to space.

It’s part of the Student Spaceflight Experiments program Mission 13.

Their experiment on bacteria growth in micro-gravity will be sent into space to be performed on the International Space Station this July.

To add to the science experiment, middle and high school art students designed patches.

Two winners were selected to have their patch designs launched into space with the experiment, including tenth grader Lexi Radtke.

Arianna Stallworth was the middle school winner with her design.
