Ultimate Hunting Expo Kicks Off in Gaylord
Northern Michigan’s biggest hunting expo is opening its doors in a new location for the first time in 23 years, moving from Traverse City to Gaylord.
More than 90 retailers, taxidermists and outfitters filled Gaylord’s Ellison Place Event Center for day one of the Ultimate Hunting Expo.
The event moved to Gaylord after organizers ran into parking issues at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center.
They say a fresh new location means a fresh new show.
“When we made the move from Traverse City to Gaylord we found that we lost a little bit of our vendor audience. Which was too bad, but we found a whole new audience of vendors that were attracted to the show because of the new location. You’re going to see a fresh show this year,” said event organizer Jim Liska.
The event started Friday and runs through Sunday.
