Videos of Luce County Snowmobile Crashes Highlight Importance of Riding Responsibly

The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning posted intense videos of snowmobile crashes in the Upper Peninsula.

They’re doing it to remind everyone to ride responsibly.

The videos come from the past few years in Luce County.

Both riders involved survived, but were severely hurt.

The state says 80 percent of snowmobile crashes in the U.P. last year were because people were going too fast.

In 2017, 133 riders were hurt in 180 crashes.

The office also posted tips on how to avoid a crash.

They say you should ride on the right, ride at safe speeds and ride sober.

Snowmobile season runs until midnight March 31.
