Judge Sentences Paul Manafort to Additional 3.5 Years in Prison

Paul Manafort has been sentenced to prison for a second time.

This time for conspiracy charges.

A judge sentenced Manafort to an additional 3.5 years in prison.

Wednesday morning Manafort addressed the court, saying he feels ashamed and embarrassed and that’s he sorry for what he has done.

Last week, a judge sentenced Manafort to just under four years in prison in a separate case in Virginia.

That was noticeably shorter than the 19 to 24 years called for under federal guidelines.

The judge sentenced him to 73 months in prison, and 30 months of the sentence she imposed will overlap with his Virginia sentence of just under four years. With the 47-month sentence in the Virginia case, Manafort’s total sentence is 90 months, or 7.5 years.

None of Manafort’s crimes are related to work he did on President Trump’s 2016 election campaign.
