Leapin’ Leprechaun 5K in Downtown Traverse City to Feature Costume Contest, Party

The luck of the Irish celebrated this weekend, and in Traverse City it will take luck and skill to win the Leapin’ Leprechaun 5K Race.

Registration is open for the annual event that runs through downtown on Saturday morning.

It’s the 9th year for the race, always held on a weekend around St. Patrick’s Day.

Runners often dress up and there is a costume contest and post-race party.

“We’re really excited about this event especially this year because proceeds from the event will go to the Munson Foundation Family Birthing and Children Center. We’re really excited to support the littlest leprechauns of our community,” said Bailey Judson.

Packet pickup is on Friday and the race starts Saturday at 9 a.m.
