City of Cadillac Plans for Mitchell Bentley Property Blight

It’s been an eyesore since 2013 but now the City of Cadillac will clear out the ruble left behind after a factory burnt down on Wright Street.

Once the Mitchell Bentley Property is cleared out, the city plans to re-develop the area and put it to use.

The city says the western side of the property will turn into an expansion of Crandall Precision Tool Incorporated.

They plan to build a solar energy installation through Consumers Energy on the eastern side.

To fund this clean up, the city received a $700,000 grant from the DEQ and a $300,000 loan.

Work on this project is expected to begin this spring.

There will be a hearing regarding this Monday at 6 p.m.
