Central Michigan University Hits Major Fundraising Milestone
Central Michigan University just reached a major fundraising milestone.
The university has been working to raise $100 million since July of 2015 through their Fire Up for Excellence campaign.
It was expected to take six years and run until 2022.
The university announced Thursday they hit and surpassed their $100 million goal in just three years.
Nearly 60,000 donors contributed, including 23 who gave $1 million or more.
The university says they’re excited about the opportunities this creates for future students.
“It will help provide money to those who couldn’t otherwise afford to come to this university, and it will provide careers down the road because some of our donors are major corporate leaders who want to provide internships and educational experiences for our students,” said Vice President for Advancement Bob Martin.
The money will help create 82 new scholarships and support other programs on campus.
