This time of year is all about love and care.

And this Valentine’s Day we have some ideas to help if you are a family affected by Alzheimer’s.

First, find ways to reconnect.

That can mean simply eating together, looking at old photos, or just taking a walk.

Second, identify their love language.

Those include physical touch, words of affirmation, quality time, gifts and acts of service.

Third, be adaptable and focus on a new normal.

Travel may be tough. Instead of going somewhere they love, bring that place to them.

For example, if they love Italy, you could make them an Italian-themed meal.

And last, redefine the roles in your relationship, especially if the person is your spouse.
