Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to Offer Grants to Communities, Organizations

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is offering $200 thousand worth of state grants for communities and organizations looking to monitor inland beach water quality.

The DEQ says the money will go toward funding water quality projects in the 2019 and 2020 fiscal years.

Local governments and nonprofits can apply for the grants, either individually or as part of a group.

If they’re chosen to receive the funding, they will be required to share the data they produce with the DEQ.

Applications are due by March 12.
