Women Unite to Transform: Grand Traverse Region Impact 100

There are so many ways to give back and get involved in your community.

Sure you can give your time, but many women feel they don’t have a lot of that commodity lying around.

That was the inspiration behind impact 100.

Now it’s become an international organization with branches all over, including a five county-wide area of Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelenau and Kalkaska.

Last giving cycle, the group awarded nearly $250,000 to communities, schools and addiction treatment services.

Now you can be part of this band of difference makers.

Impact 100’s President Tonya Wildfong says just 100 women pledging $1,000 can donate a transformative $100,000 to a nonprofit together.

“Really this was founded on that base of women are busy, but women want to give back,” she says. “We are a relatively new chapter, 2017 is when we started, so we are in our third year.  We broke records our first year for joining.”

This year the Grand Traverse Region Impact 100 is trying to give three non-profits grants, meaning 300 women is their recruitment goal.

They had 247 members last year.

“A 1,000 dollars may seem like a lot of money, but it’s just a cup of coffee a day, really…so it is a stop and think gift,” Wildfong says.
