Local First Responders Prepare for More Snow, Icy Conditions

With more snow, ice and rain on the way local emergency managers are getting ready for what could be another busy week.

The weather has kept first responders across Northern Michigan busy the past couple of weeks.

So they once again want to remind drivers to take it slow on the roads which will likely be icy.

Otsego County EMS Director Jon Deming says they are prepared to handle the calls.

“We staff accordingly [to the weather]. We make sure we have enough adequate staff to handle the emergencies that come to us and on an average day we probably increase our run volume by about 25 percent,” Deming, said.

With the potential for power outages, Deming says don’t hesitate to reach out to EMS directly for any information.
