Salvation Army of Petoskey Awarded $10k Grant to Provide Meals

The Salvation Army of Petoskey will be able to feed the community with help from a $10,000 grant they just received.

The Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation gave the money to help fund the Friday Night Live community dinners and the monthly Addiction Recovery Support dinners the Salvation Army hosts.

They are nights where low income individuals and families can get a hot meal and some fellowship.

“It’s really a blessing because the reality is without the funding we would not be able to do what we do. The Friday night meals provide nutrition for folks who need nutrition that need a hot meal,” Salvation Army of Petoskey Envoy Greg Irwin, said.

The Friday Night Live community dinners are open to the public every Friday at 6 p.m.
