Dry January: The Benefits of Abstaining from Alcohol

If you didn’t start your “Dry January,” a month without alcohol at the start of the year, you can always start today.

Plus when you quit drinking, people have lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

You have better control over your emotions, including depression and anxiety.

Alcohol is a depressant and can leave you feeling emotionally imbalanced.

You can lose weight.

Alcohol has no nutritional value, but plenty of empty calories.

And you’ll save money!

Take the cash you’d spend on drinks and put it towards something you’d like to buy yourself.

Experts say for men, two drinks per day is considered drinking in moderation.

For women, it’s one or fewer.
