Children, Adults Brave Bitter Cold U.P. Temperatures for Fun in the Sun

The bitter cold temperatures in the Upper Peninsula did not stop people from enjoying the crisp blue skies Saturday afternoon.

Kids and adults braved the single digit temperatures to go tubing in Sault Ste. Marie.

Sault Seal Recreation Area had all their slopes open.

One Lake Superior State University student treated her visiting nieces to a day on the hill.

Since they are from downstate, they were more than excited for all the snow.

“When they came up they were like, ‘Let’s go sledding because you have all the snow,’ and I was like, ‘Yes, sledding!’ They are really enjoying it. Natural sledders,” says Patricia Guild, a junior at Lake State.

Guild says they did not get too cold because they dressed in layers and used hand and feet warmers.
