If you know a skilled trade worker who wants to apply, the ARAUCO Job Fair on Jan. 19 in West Branch is where they will want to be.
The multi-million-dollar particleboard facility is nearly up and running in Grayling. But Michelle Knepp, with ARAUCO’s Human Resources Department, says there are many particle board technician openings to fill.
The job fair will hold on-the-spot interviews, so bring your resume for an interview right then and there.
Maintenance Manager Darryl Babbitt says they are three to four weeks away from making their first board.
“It has been a very challenging time for us, I have been here for over a year so for a lot of us it is very exciting opportunity,” he says. “ We will be producing particle board to many manufacturing companies (and) furniture manufacturers throughout this northern region—you know, Ohio, Michigan, that area. But also all the way over in Oregon, father south as well, so very exciting times.”
