Wexford Community Credit Union Offers Help to Federal Government Employees During Shutdown

The Wexford Community Credit Union is another local organization stepping up to help federal government employees who won’t be seeing a paycheck today.

The credit union says they’ll offer loan extensions at a three percent rate for local workers affected by the shutdown.

Right now, the credit union says they aren’t sure how many of their members are affected, but that number could be somewhere in the hundreds.

“When something comes up that could affect so many members, it’s our duty, it’s our joy really to put something out there that will meet a need. Even if it’s a temporary short-term one, that’s why we’re here,” said Julie Rushing, the CEO of the Wexford Community Credit Union.

The credit union says they are more than happy to help impacted federal workers who are not members as well.
