Sliding into the New Year with Mt. Holiday Tubing

Mt. Holiday, a Traverse City non-profit is keeping kids of all ages active during Northern Michigan’s long winter months. They not only offer skiing, snowboarding and hot cocoa, but offer a fun alternative -tubing.

The Executive Director of Mt. Holiday, Ann Pettyjohn says, “The organization was founded to get kids outside, keep kids active and to do something other than sitting in front of the TV and playing video games.”

Kids from across the state are loving this winter activity. Whether they’re visiting family for the holidays or live locally.

“I really think it’s fun and a place where you can go faster without sledding because some sleds aren’t the best and you can go really fast down these hills like you go down straight and then it’s a straight drop. It’s really fun,” says Evan, a 10 year-old who loves coming to Mt. Holiday every winter.

Mt. Holiday doesn’t have age limits or requirements either when it comes to tubing. People of all ages are more than welcome to join in on the fun!

Pettyjohn says, “We’ve had kids as young as 1-and-a-half to 2 years old, all the way up to our oldest one who was in their mid 80’s.”

Reservations are encouraged, so if you’re looking to get out with your family and enjoy Northern Michigan’s winter, click here to book your tubing experience.
