Munson Medical Center Tests Metal Detectors for Extra Security
Munson Medical Center in Traverse City is testing metal detectors at some of its entrances.
The hospital says it’s trying out metal detectors in its main lobby this week.
It’s also tested metal detectors in its emergency department.
The hospital says it’s not because of any threats, but want to be ahead of the curve to provide a safe environment.
“It’s just one more step, a layer of security that we are providing here at Munson Medical Center. We are always looking to be proactive on our security measures and constantly improving our screening process,” says Munson Medical Center security manager, David Tucker.
The hospital says belongings might also be subject to a search by security.
