Cadillac Businesses Collect Thousands of Quarters for Hospice of Michigan

Hospice of Michigan’s “Give a Quarter Back” campaign is filling jars across Wexford, Missaukee, Osceola and Clare counties. This organization is hoping to raise 63,000 quarters to create a ‘quarter’ mile during the Manton High School basketball game on Friday, January 25.

63,000 quarters is approximately $16,000 which will allow Hospice of Michigan to provide physical, emotional and spiritual end-of-life support to those who may not be able to afford this service.

Hospice of Michigan marketing advisor, Margo Jacobs says, “The reason that we do this is because we have an open access program and the reason is because no matter one’s ability to pay they are eligible for hospice. No matter the cost we will take them on.”

The Wexford Credit Union in Cadillac has become super involved in this fundraising campaign, willing to match people’s contributions on January 11th of up to $2,000.

CEO of Wexford Credit Union, Julie Rushing says, “We’re a small staff of 30 and like everyone we have suffered loss. They were all on board because they know the good work they do. It’s been an easy effort for us.”
