It’s hard to believe it’s almost 2019.

Wherever the time went, the new year brings with it new goals and resolutions for some people.

From exercise to eating healthy or saving money, people tend to burn out by mid-February and never complete what they set out to do.

Registered Dietician Grace Derocha, of , has a few tips to help. She suggests you follow the SMARTE goal-setting system.

SMARTE goal-setting system

  • S—Specific
  • M—Measurable
  • A—Adjust
  • R—Realistic
  • T—Timely
  • E—Enjoyable

“I want to remind people, maybe think of the evolution of yourself,” Derocha says, “Take time and set some SMARTE goals. So you have probably seen this before. SMARTE is being specific, having a goal that is measurable, that you can adjust (and) that is realistic. So don’t say that you are going to run a marathon in like two days.”
