President Trump Returns After Surprise Visit to U.S. Troops

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump are back in the U.S. Thursday morning after a surprise visit to troops stationed in Iraq and Germany.

It was the president’s first visit to soldiers in a combat zone as commander in chief.

The trip also comes as he faces criticism for his decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria and to drawdown troops in Afghanistan.

“We don’t want to be taken advantage anymore by countries that use us and use our incredible military to protect them,” says President Trump.

The president will continue his face-off with lawmakers to come up with a funding bill to end the current partial government shutdown.

The shutdown began Friday night, after the Senate failed to pass a budget bill that included $5 billion for President Trump’s border wall.
