Indonesia Tsunami: Number Dead Climbs As Waters Recede
The number dead in the wake of Indonesia’s devastating tsunami continues to climb as authorities fear more disasters could strike without warning.
At least 429 people are now confirmed dead, more than 150 are still missing and more than 16,000 others displaced.
Rescue crews sifting through the debris have done so through the rain, in hopes of pulling survivors from the scene.
Officials believe the wave may have reached up to five meters high off the coast of Java.
It is believed to have been the result of a volcanic eruption and hit Indonesia without warning.
