Wellness for the Family: Head-to-Toe Health Tips for Winter

If you’re feeling the stress, dry skin and tiredness of winter, you’re not alone.

Registered Dietician Grace Derocha, with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, is covering you head-to-toe in advice.

“The holiday time is definitely a time where we see people with a lot of stress, and we aren’t taking as good of care of ourselves because we are in hibernation mode,” she says.

To combat that, try these self-care ideas:

  • Journal
  • Hydrate
  • Exercise
  • Lotion up
  • Make regular doctor visits, get the flu vaccine

“Getting the flu vaccine, and then making sure people know that there are lots of places they can do that,” Derocha says. “There are places like pharmacies, retail centers, urgent care. Really easy. Or you can schedule it with your doctor.”
