In few weeks people who live in Emmet County will have more reliable public transportation.
Just after the New Year, the county will roll out EMGO, a new public transit service.
Recently they put up their and it has all the information so riders can prep before making plans.
Three new buses will be traveling the county from Petoskey to Mackinaw City and Harbor Springs through Alanson.
The county says it’s a great way to improve mobility and the community.
“We are hoping that it helps people, especially people that may be challenged, don’t have a vehicle or people that want to take advantage of a bus system and not have to worry about parking or getting around the hassle of owning a vehicle,” said John Calabrese, the Emmet County administrator.
The buses will have dial-a-ride service and rides will cost between $4 and $8, depending on how far you need to go.
