Ex-Trump Lawyer Michael Cohen Sentenced to Prison
President Donald Trump’s ex-lawyer Michael Cohen has been sentenced to three years in prison for crimes including hush-money payments that prosecutors say Trump ordered.
At his sentencing hearing Wednesday Cohen said he takes “full responsibility” for the crimes. He also said his allegiance to Trump led him “to take a path of darkness instead of light.”
Cohen pleaded guilty to dodging taxes, lying to Congress and violating campaign finance laws.
Cohen said Wednesday that his “blind loyalty” to Trump led Cohen to “cover up his dirty deeds.”
