Prudence and Margarita aren’t full-grown cats, so they aren’t free, but these three month old kittens are just two of several at the shelter ready to go to good homes.

The shelter also recently saved eight dogs from being euthanized in Van Buren County. Keefer was one of them, a one-year-old Siberian husky mix.

He is friendly and loves people. The shelter is looking for someone with a fenced in yard and plenty of room to let him play. He might even make a great running partner!

Foster volunteers who can’t commit to adopting to an animal long-term, but still want to open their home to an animal in need, can sign up to foster if they live near the Charlevoix area.

Plus the shelter is having an open house on Saturday from 1 to 4. Feel free to stop in and buy a for the shelter’s biggest fundraiser.

The raffle is for a seven night stay at Fairmont Kea Lani Mavi, Hawai. Or you can take the $10,000 cash option.

The drawing will be held Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. at the shelter location in Boyne City. The winner doesn’t have to be present to win.

But it does revert to 50/50 if fewer than 400 tickets are sold.
