Elk Rapids Boy With Muscle Condition Surprised With Special Bicycle
Owen Werner is an 11-year-old boy who lives in Elk Rapids.
He has a condition that makes his muscles and joints severely underdeveloped.
All Owen wanted to do was just be able to ride a bike.
Owen found a man in Kalkaska that modifies bicycles for special needs and low income kids.
Owen decided to start a fundraiser for other kids in his situation.
It took place Friday at Cherryland Middle School in Elk Rapids.
But not only was money raised to help other kids, Owen himself was surprised with his very own bike.
“It made me a very proud mom. He is a very determined young man and it really made me feel great that he wanted to help others,” says Aleasha Witt, Owen’s mom.
Owen’s bicycle was donated by McLain cycle and fitness.
