Traverse City Students Show Can-do Attitude in Food Drive
It’s the giving season and one Northern Michigan high school is asking for help to give to others.
Traverse City Central High School students are holding their sixth annual ‘Can the Principal’ food drive.
The goal is to collect enough donations to fill their principal’s office.
The students hope to gather at least 10,000 non-perishable food items this year.
It will then go towards the school’s step program before being sent out to other area pantries.
“The STEP program is for families and kids in transition. So if they need a little extra support or something like that, we’re here for them to give them that extra boost and pick them up, so if they need anything, we’re here for that,” says senior Ike Battle.
All donations can be dropped off at the high school office.
The drive ends December 14.
